Bill Mullen
The 2020 Samhain Celtic New Year Festival is excited to welcome Bill Mullen! Born and raised in Dundee, Scotland, Bill’s musical launch came on Scottish Hogmanay (New Year’s Eve) when he was eleven and performed for the first time, to his parent’s surprise. By age 16, he was performing concerts on his own.

Old Man Flanagan’s Ghost has been bringing a variety of Celtic music to audiences for years. Based out of Toronto, they are best described as ‘high-energy Celtic folk’, combining the sound of traditional folk instruments with a passionate intensity.

2020 Samhain Celtic New Year Festival kicks off with special virtual concert
The Ceili of the Valley Society’s Virtual Samhain Celtic New Year Festival kicks-off October 3 with festival openers Jim and Susie Malcolm “Live from Scotland.” Jim Malcolm is the ultimate Scots troubadour. Traveling the world with his guitar, harmonicas, and engaging wit, he sings the traditional songs of Scotland and his own masterfully crafted songs in a style which is modern and accessible, yet utterly authentic. He is highly regarded as an interpreter of the songs of Robert Burns, and has been described as “one of the finest singers in Scotland in any style”. 2020 Virtual Festival!We’re going virtual! Due to COVID-19, the Ceili of the Valley Society has decided to move the 5th annual Samhain Celtic New Year Festival online. This year’s event will take place Saturday, October 24, 2020, and feature all the things people have come to love experiencing at the event including live music, demonstrations, speakers, workshops, children’s activities, vendors, and more. Despite being virtual this year, the Festival aims to provide an immersive day of entertainment for the whole community as it celebrates the seven Celtic nations: Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia and Isle of Man, but to do this, we need your help.
