Aleys is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Minsk, Belarus. He has performed with medieval band STARY OLSA since 2002, on vocals, shawms, gusli (Baltic Psaltery), rebec, hurdy-gurdy and more. They have released 8 albums and 3 live CDs.
In 2005, he started his own Celtic music band CEILIDH CEOL, and has released 2 albums.
In 2019, Aleys started his gusli project with the first release – a Christmas Carols album. The gusli is the first metal-stringed instrument with a hollow wooden body and dates to the 11th century. It is the ancestor of all guitars, violins, etc. He not only plays this instrument, but he also builds (and sells) them as well, in his workshop.
