    The Ceili of the Valley Society (CVS) is excited to announce its seventh annual Samhain Celtic New Year Festival to be held Saturday, October 22, 2022. The mission of the Ceili of the Valley Society is to promote Irish and Celtic culture mainly through music and dance. Ceili of the Valley Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and is a participating Oregon Cultural Trust non-profit. Applications are open for vendors, performers and exhibitors! What are we looking for?     Did you see us in the Statesman Journal?

    We chatted with Brooke Jackson-Glidden of the Statesman Journal yesterday who is wrote a piece up about the inaugural Samhain Celtic New Year Festival. We are excited to see it in print next week, but here’s a preview: Celebrate Celtic heritage at Samhain festival Oct. 22 (click above to read the full story) Halloween, before horror movies and trick-or-treating became the norm, came from a Celtic celebration known as Samhain (pronounced sow-in), also known as the “feast of the dead.” The holiday served as a New Year celebration, and the folks from the Ceili of the Valley Society want to introduce the tradition to Salem.
